I’ve been unable to work due to a heavy cold – so I’ve been distracting myself with some “research ” on the internet.

Just found a great singer from Warwickshire who I hadn’t heard of previously called Kel Elliott.  I’m a bass player myself so I’m always interested in people who play on similar or related instruments and I must say Kel is pretty handy on the double bass.

Her style is  quite jazzy and the song I’m loving at the moment is her band’s take on the Arctic Monkeys “Bet You Look good on the Dance Floor”. I love the original but her kind of bossa nova, cocktail lounge, jazz club  feel works better on the song than you might imagine!  Scroll down to the the third video on her website – when you check it out here

Seems it was recorded in a Touch Radio studio a couple of years ago – but I bet they don’t play much music like Kel’s on their usual radio shows!
