VOs for L&G and B&Q and others

It’s been a very busy time in my voice over studio over the last few weeks with me recording quite a wide variety of VO jobs from video narrations, elearning projects and phone messages.

B&Q logoA while ago I recorded a large quantity of voiceovers for B&Q to be used as part of their health and safety training for their store and warehouse staff. I’ve just been asked to add some new material specifically on the topics of the correct use of banksmen and also how to correctly and safely control the movement of vehicles in loading and unloading areas. It’s another one of those projects that makes me look with different eyes at something I never previously thought about – now when I go to a DIY store I’m looking to see if they follow the correct procedures for move and stacking stock.

It’s not the first time I’ve experienced this. Since providing voice overs for a very large project of professional development for dental clinicians I find every time I go for a check-up I’m analysing all aspects of the work in my local dentist surgery.

legal_and_general_logo_smI’ve also added several hundred more messages to the Legal and General IVR phone system directing their customers through the maze of menus on the way to the correct person to deal with their query.  This is an on-going project with Brand Audio – who also recently asked me to record some announcements for shopping centres to be used during Remembrance Sunday inviting shoppers to join in the traditional 2 minute silence as mark of respect for all those who have lost their lives in war. Which at least made a change from asking people to “press 2 for household insurance”!

alstom_logo_smIn terms of narrations I’ve just recorded two for videos describing the use of new types of inhaler for the treatments of asthma and other respiratory conditions and a short while ago I recorded a narration for Alstom describing a new hydro-electric generation project in Brazil where the power generation plant has been linked vie high tension cables to a city 2,300 km away.

There’s also been an expansion of my more international work with a corporate voice over narration for Sonae produced by a production studio in Portugal, an update to a voiceover earlier in the year for wood stove manufacturer Aduro, in Denmark and I’ve just started recording a 50 video series for a university in The Netherlands.

The B&Q project is produced by Knowledge Front
The Legal and General IVR messages are for Brand Audio
The 50 video narrations are produced for Voxcast
