Two different voice over jobs
It’s been a busy time in my voiceover booth. There seems to be a bit more activity around than there was at the beginning of the year. I have posted previously about my client base and how grateful I am for the clients that come back time after time.
Over the last few years I have been voicing for a wide-ranging e-learning project designed for people involved in bringing new pharmaceuticals and drugs to market across the world.
I have a much better understanding of the complexities and pressures involved in researching new drugs – going through the various clinic trial phases and onto the moment when you can actually sell them to patients.
It’s a project that needs constant updating whenever there are legislative changes in different legal jurisdictions around the world or new guidance is issued by regulatory bodies. So once again I have had a number of substantial updates to record for the Zenosis project.
In contrast I also just did a voice over – recorded in a directed session – for a client in Portugal I first worked for more than a decade ago. In recent times I have worked less for him due to him not needing English voices so often.
This time it was an interesting narration about improved security at Porto airport where I was directed by my client Ricardo while he was joined on the Zoom session with 2 of his clients from the airport. These days I mostly self direct so it was an enjoyable change to have the client on the line giving me direction.
It’s something I used to do more of when I first started in voice work but in recent years self direction seems to have become much more the norm. Its much easier to get a sense of what the client wants from the voice over when you can just ask them!
